Rylee's Story
Six year old Rylee graduated from kindergarten this past spring and spent her summer living fabulously. Playing with her friends, hanging out with her Mom (Loren) and Dad (Jacob) and her three dogs. She had her first ballet recital. She spent a few weeks at The Jersey Shore with Mimi (Tammy), Pop Pop (Kirk) and her Aunts Carissa and Hailey. She played on her Switch and was just enjoying being a kid. Just over a week ago, she was getting ready to start first grade and was super excited.
Then on July 29th, 2021 the unthinkable happened. Mom's keen eye noticed some irregular bruising on Rylee's legs and brought her to the pediatrician, just to be safe. Within 4 hours Rylee was admitted to Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte NC and diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). The doctors sprung into action immediately and started Rylee on chemotherapy and other treatments to stabilize and start combating her disease. The road ahead is long, but Rylee is a fighter. She has an amazing spirit and positive attitude like no child you have ever met.
